Ahmedabad, December 14, 2021: Honda Motorcycleand Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. commenced the manufacturing of global engines from its 4th factory at Vithalapur (Ahmedabad district), Gujarat.
Powering its 250cc (& above) category two-wheelers, the dedicated engine line is set to serve the Global demand, like Thailand, US, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, and Gulf nations among others.
A total of 50,000 engine units are scheduled for production in its first year and the capacity will be further scaled up as per market demand. With an investment of over INR 135 Crores, the company will manufacture Midsize Fun model engines from its Gujarat Plant for both Domestic and International markets.
Speaking at the line-off ceremony, Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd . said, “ As demand for mobility rises globally, Honda envisions further expansion of its exportsfootprint across the world. With the introduction of BSVI norms in India, we are a step closer to achieve this vision. Building products which are at par with global standards of manufacturing, this new expansion will allow HMSI to develop production capabilities to strengthen our direction of make in India, for the world .”

Hybrid Renewable resources across all its plants
Ahmedabad, December 16, 2021:Reducing its dependence on non-renewable resources by leveraging hybrid energy systems (wind & solar), Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. Inaugurated its 2nd wind turbine system in Bhanvad(Dwarka district, Gujarat), around 350kms from the company’s Vithalapur plant.
Built with an investment of INR 176 million, Honda will now produce a total of 4.7 MWwind energy including its first wind turbine system (2 MW capacity) installed inRadhanpur (Patan district, Gujarat) last year.
Noteworthy, HMSI will now meet over 50% of total energy requirements at its 4 manufacturing plants in Manesar(Haryana), Tapukara(Rajasthan), Narsapura(Karnataka) & Vithalapur (Gujarat) from renewable energy resources.

New Delhi, 21 December 2021:The export of NAVi to US markets will be carried through Honda de México. The export of CKD kits from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India to Mexico commenced in July 2021 & has dispatched over 5000 CKD kits of NAVi bikes to Mexico so far.
